January, 2010

The Weather...

Keep foul weather gear available to you at all times.
Training and trialing go on no matter the weather.
The exception is if the facility is rendered unusable.
Another thing to remember is that we do not put
up the lights at class at Long Beach on rainy days
so if you can not make it out before dark
you probably will not get training on that RAINY day.

Brags...
If I do not get your brag then it doesnot show here. This is the case with a couple of more for this month, sorry you did not make this issue with your brag!

Format for Brags... Dog’s call name-dogs formal name complete with their titles already earned-followed by the new accomplishment, trial where it happened, with who handling and where it happened.
example
: DOG-Sir DOG UD, HX-earned his WTCH at Anybody’s Trial on any date with Mr. Handler at any town. (any breed)

Chili - earned her JHD at the Stonewall Ranch in Perris CA on November 29, 2009. Owned and handled by Kelley Garcia (Border Collie).
Thanks to Jerry and Matt for all their training.

AHBA Registration Rule Change in 2010

To be clear(er), the AHBA is NOT a registry, and we accept any registration number you may have on your dog - AKC, ABCA, ASCA, etc. We will assign a tracking number to any dog who has no registration number whatsoever (example a mixed-breed herding dog).

Effective June 1, 2010, all dogs participating in AHBA trials MUST have a registration number or an AHBA Tracking Number. For dogs which have multiple registrations, one number should be chosen for use at AHBA events and used consistently.

For dogs which have no registration number, the owner may obtain and fill out the Request for Tracking Number available on our website and send it to Siouxsan Eisen, whose email and mailing address are on the form. The owner will be sent a Tracking Number to use for entering AHBA events.

After June 1, 2010, any incomplete entry form received by the AHBA will not be processed. Sponsors should make this clear to entrants.

In addition to using a consistent registration or Tracking Number, owners should use one consistent name when entering a dog; please do not use "Rover" at one trial, and "Sir Roams A Lot" at another trial. We appreciate your support of the AHBA and hope this causes you no inconvenience. Please feel free to contact any one of us at the AHBA Board if you have any questions.
Sincerely,Siouxsan Eisen
AHBA Secretary
