Brags...

Casaddy JHD, HTD Is -On Sunday, May 10, at Stonewall Ranch IEHDA held its HRD course trial with sheep and geese. This was no easy or typical course in that obstacles in TWO arenas were used to challenge the handlers and dogs. (The greatest challenge for some dogs was getting the sheep from one arena into the next!) Luckily,  , completed the course in good time and finished her HRD Is title under Judge Judy Vanderford. Thanks to Matt for his very capable handling and to Jerry for all his guidance. Border Collie Cassie is proudly owned
by Margaret Elliot

Winne- Winnifred Dixie of Alban, JHD, STDsd ("Winnie") got fourth place out of 12 dogs and a qualifying score of 81 to get her first leg for Herding Ranch Dog Level 1 (HRD-I). This was an AHBA trial on May 17, 2009 at Action k-9 Sports. Winnie likes the "real work" aspect of this course and Jerry's
advice of "do what's best for the stock" helped us get this leg on our first
try. Winnie is owned and handled by Mary A. Lehman. Thanks Jerry!"

Tess- WTCH Tess HXA,Bs, HTAD IIIs, HTDIIIs- on her quest for a second herding championship the HTCH from AHBA scored two more championship points. One of which , on geese, came with a score of 91.5, a first place and a High In Trial. Two more points to go! Handled by Jerry Stewart, owned by Bonnie and Don Roloff

Does my dog have to get into the water?

Heat prostration is very serious and life threatening for your dog and can be easily avoided. One can analogize this with over heating your automobile. Once this has happened you will forever be on alert to it happening again. It will also have a greater chance of recurring. Extensive damage  both hidden and obvious signs are evident. This is a safety issue. Note  that the dogs quickly dry off in warm and hot weather.

The answer is yes, why not? We are talking about preventing a death here!

has begun, officially. It is very important to cool down your dog after its run! Remember do not close up your vehicle with a dog in it. You parked in the shade the dog is ok, right? Wrong! Shade moves with the sun.
It is not OK to park in someone's way to get shade for your vehicle.
